Alexandra Geneser, Psy.D.

Dr. Alexandra Geneser is a licensed clinical psychologist who completed her doctoral training at the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University in Pennsylvania. She completed her internship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Neuropsychology Assessment Center, where she gained experience in both academic medical center and private practice settings. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology in the Adult Neurology Clinic at the University of Virginia Health System, where she worked with a variety of patients with neurological problems including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease, Parkinson’s plus syndromes, multiple sclerosis, etc.), and frontotemporal dementia. She has a particular interest in adults, aging, and geriatrics. She enjoys consulting with families and their loved ones to assist them with the difficult process of adjusting to the changes that accompany cognitive decline. She plans to begin providing cognitive rehabilitation services for those in the early stages of a memory disorder. In addition to conducting neuropsychological evaluations and providing cog rehab at Valley MedPsych, she is currently working as the staff psychologist at UVA’s Student Disability Access Center and as an independent rater on clinical trials aimed at treating dementia. We welcomed Dr. Geneser to our practice in September.
